Dan is also passionate about music education. Almost every summer, you can find him at Idyllwild Arts Academy teaching in their summer Jazz Workshop.
Dan has also started three different extracurricular music programs at three different schools as his drumming son progressed through Elementary, Middle and High School. Currently, Dan is working regularly with the Jazz Band at Pacific Palisades High School in Los Angeles.
During the Covid Pandemic, Dan has been helping a number of schools with their "Online Ensemble" programs, helping them bridge the educational gap until schools can once again rehearse "live."
Dan's background in Jazz, Classical, Rock, Electronic Music and Studio Production make him uniquely able to teach and inspire musicians young and old. His professional level playing ability on Keyboard, Guitar and Electric Bass also make him valuable as an instructor for Rock, Jazz and other "Rhythm Section" genres.
Dan is available for appearances as guest artist performing his Big Band compositions with College and upper level High School bands as well as performing clinics in Jazz composition and performance, music production, music business and recording technology.
